I want to try and put up some blog posts of cheap yet tasty treats that can be had... Especially if you are going to become/already are a student! Living off not much won't be easy, but being able to still fully enjoy the pleasures of home whilst away from the family home is the aim of this.
This time I am doing rice crispy cake treats. This is both the marshmallow version and the chocolate version! Easy, affordable, tasty, quick... The best combination out there.
Using the supermarkets own brand of products makes it cheaper and it doesn't matter when the chocolate or marshmallows are basically the taste which matters!
Chocolate Rice Crispy Cakes
Only takes about 15-20 minutes
60g butter, 100g milk chocolate, 3 tablespoons of golden syrup, 90g rice crispys.
Melt the butter and chocolate together then stir in the golden syrup with this.
Add the rice crispys into the mix, stir all the ingredients together and vola! You have your yummy cakes. If you want, you can spoon it out into paper cases... Otherwise grab that big spoon and dig in on your own or with friends.
Sticky Rice Crispy Cakes
Same time as chocolate cakes...
45g of butter, bag of marshmallows, 180g of rice crispys
Melt the butter and marshmallows together and then stir in the rice crispys.
Another tasty treat for you or you and friends within a short space of time.
